What to Expect/Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: I am currently able to accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans and AETNA for those who have out-of-network benefits. If you have a different insurance plan, I can provide you with a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. If you have questions regarding your specific insurance coverage, I encourage you to contact your insurance company directly.

Q: What is your fee if I don’t use my insurance?

A: I am happy to discuss my out-of-pocket session fees with you during an initial phone consultation. I accept cash, flexible spending cards, credit/debit cards and checks.

Q: Are you available to talk to me outside of my regularly scheduled appointment?

A: I will make every effort to return your call and talk to you briefly if you feel you need immediate support. If needed, I will offer to schedule an earlier session at your convenience and provide phone support as able. However, I am not “on call” 24 hours/day and if you find yourself in a psychiatric emergency the appropriate source of support is to go to your nearest ER or call 911.

Q: How long will therapy or coaching take until I’ve reached my goal?

A: Every person's needs and goals are different. Some people find they have reached their goal in a few sessions. Others find it helpful to work on more complex concerns for a number of months. We will work together to develop a treatment plan that is appropriate for your needs and utilizes effective treatment interventions.
